Why calling Rick Warren a “General” is significant

What’s in a name? When the name and title of “General” is used in a church leadership context, it’s a rank that ought to be a red flag for you.  After reading this article, I hope it will be in the future.

First, the photo. Hillsong’s Brian Houston posted this on his Facebook profile:

The rank title in this case may be easily dismissed as nothing more than just a friendly term of endearment. But did you know that “General” is code word for Apostle within the New Apostolic Reformation movement?

That’s why Apostles are also called “Generals,” a code word for Apostle.

Leaders in this modern-day apostles and prophets movement know full well that discerning churches today would never consider recommending or inviting theology from a modern-day Apostle or Prophet. So they’ve distanced themselves from those titles for more innocuous ones, in order to penetrate the mainstream and fly under the radar.

That’s how slippery the NAR is to pin down. And that’s how this movement creeps into just about every denomination and non-denom today.

If you want to know if your church is part of the NAR, the main hallmark is that it embraces the idea that God is re-establishing the office of Apostle and Prophet, with the same authority as the original apostles that Christ Himself appointed.

So for instance, on the Bethel Church website, they openly state that they do embrace the biblical office of apostle and prophet, so that tells us they are indeed NAR.

To his own congregation, Bill Johnson is a “Prophet.” But outside of Bethel, he says he feels more comfortable with the word General. Mike Bickle is also called a General, as is Brian Houston.

But NAR leaders will often outright deny ties to the NAR. Because it is being exposed. NAR researcher Holly Pivec observes:

Johnson claimed that Bethel Church doesn’t have any official ties to the NAR. But Johnson didn’t tell the whole story. What he didn’t mention is that it’s impossible for any church to have official ties to the NAR because the NAR isn’t an organization or a denomination. So there’s no official listing of NAR churches. It’s a large movement in which participants are unified by a shared set of beliefs (beliefs in present-day apostles and prophets who govern the church). And you can’t have official, organizational ties to a set of beliefs. However, many of those in the NAR, including Johnson, have developed intentional networks with one another. source

The modern-day apostleship anointing is physically passed from one “apostle” to another, usually through the laying of hands. Marching orders then flow from God to these leaders, whose anointed authority must not be questioned. Through these generals, an army of end-times soldiers will be raised up to take dominion of the earth and the spiritual realm, so that Jesus is able to return to a perfected Kingdom. I’m not kidding.

Back to the photo. Again, I do not doubt that Houston’s bestowal of the General title on Rick Warren will be dismissed as simply another “heresy-hunter’s-guilt-by-association” thing. We’ve heard it all before. And the NAR will advance its dominionist agenda while Christians deny the obvious signs.

But do consider that Rick Warren’s dominionist agenda through his P.E.A.C.E. Plan continues to pick up steam in nations around the world, even though many in the West have forgotten all about it.

I thought Rick Warren went to new age principles to lose weight. What happened? He looks bigger than ever.

But yes, there are three false teachers standing together to get the populace used to the concept of listening to “leaders” so they can hand the populace over to the pope.

    Oy!!!!!
And I thought the first and second century Christians had a rough time descerning who said what and when did they say it. Paul was very adamant about following Jesus and not following man. We have to be ready in the Holy Spirit and steadfast in God’s Word to discern the lies from the pit from our own ranks. This dillusion by Warren, Osteen and others is a sign of the times.

Amen to that! All these movements within churchianity have one root, Rome. Ecumenism is the vehicle disguised as the NAR, Emergent, Seeker, to bring them back to the False Prophet (religious) who will convince them to worship the Beast (religious, political.) Warren and company are seeing to that, knowingly or unknowingly that I can’t say.

2 Timothy 2:15 says all that needs to be said about Rick Warren:

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rick Warren consistently misuses the Word of God, using as many as 10 different modern translations and only quoting partial verses to support his own thinking. I have not reviewed any of his books other than The Purpose Driven Life but I was absolutely appalled at how he continuously misused the biblical text. The idea that he could counsel anyone in genuine Christian living is mind-boggling; it shows just how far the church has fallen away from the truth of God’s Word.

Amen and amen! The Great Apostasy unfurling before our eyes! No matter what the label, like marching ants they’re headed for the same converging point. The Bible is clear, when the Apostasy is fulfilled then the man of sin will be revealed, then the false prophet will get religious to follow the Beast, all these sheeple wanting to see when and wonders will finally get to, from the antichrist himself.

      Revelation 13:11-13

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men

15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. ”
Power, and money driven pastors in the final hour.
They should just call themselves CEOs.
All the goats follow after these sorts, because the LORD gives them to what’s in their heart. Jesus is not in these churches, He’s outside…

Amen Nate, and yet so many can’t or won’t see it. Sign of the times, massive apostasy gathering steam. In the secular sphere, the are so many things taking place that it boggles the mind, the system is in place, awaiting a leader to take over. From tracking and bio ID, to an electronic economy all credit cards are going chip powered, Elon Musk of Tesla fame is promoting human/computer integration:

      http://www.cnbc.com/2017/02/13/elon-musk-humans-merge-machines-cyborg-artificial-intelligence-robots.html

There’s a spiritual as well as a visible battle raging, we know the outcome, but even secular man sees there’s something wrong with the world. While the Warren’s of Churchianity push for ecumenism, and world governance. It’s no longer conspiracy nut theories, it’s out in the open, we are rapidly entering the book of Revelation…… There was a reason God confused men at Babylon and split them up, they’re hell bent on doing evil, well now through false religion man is hurriedly uniting and bringing back Babylon, economically and politically. I pity those that think God’s plan can be thwarted, or that the US has a mandate or covenant with God and we are impervious to His judgement. We have slaughtered over 57 million children, we have purveyed more weapons and wrought more destruction than Rome and all the ancient empires combined! We have invented and spread every technology that will facilitate the man of sin taking his place, the whole world is guilty, man has turned his back on the Holy God of the universe.

Yes, just like WOF Copelands, Mark T Barclay, Jerry Savelle, Billye Brim, Leroy Thompson, that’s what they call their mentors “generals”

    Kenneth E. Hagiin
    E.W. Kenyon
    Hilton Sutton
    Oral Roberts

Rick Warren, Brian Houston promote New- Age spiritualism teachers

Dr Oz – Reiki and Deepak Chopra

    Dr Daniel Aman- Hindu Kundalini

Dr Mark Hyman- follows new-ager Bernie Siegel

Oprah Winfrey- Occult/ New age Practices, Spirit Guides

They all follow and learn off each other and Partner to spread their New Age Message

The purpose of Conferences is Money Raising- Its right out of the Rick Warren handbook that he teaches his pastors how to raise money.

And Brian Houston’s book- You need more Money!

And yet millions follow these minions of Satan!

  10. Nate C April 2, 2017 at 1:41 pm #

Grim reality you men are speaking. Keep seeking the Lord, He grants wisdom to those contrite in spirit.
I was just warning family members who are saturated by WOF. Those men started all of this! HAGIN plagiarized Kenyon. And Oral is the one that televised and cashed in on the “seed- faith” heresy!
Do any of you are the effect of the current spirit of the age? Feminine men in the church and in pulpits across America? It’s a homosexual spirit. Just pick any modern “worship band” or hip and cool young skinny jeans pastor. It’s hard to tell them apart from spirit of the age…

I would love to hear your thoughts on The Salvation ARMY. Is this NAR or are they their own entity from whom others built the army lingo from? The “General=Apostle” makes so much sense to me now as a non-officer/non-Salvationist working in the midst of them. This is their international mission statement http://www.salvationarmy.org/ihq/vision. The new logo is extremely troubling and their language Humanistic.
