Once again the dominionists make it about us rather than Him

This is disgusting to me. And I am about to lose my mind if I see one more conference promising anything other than the eternal Hope we have in Christ.

What if my “larger story” isn’t about living to my potential or fulfilling my fleshly dreams for myself, but living for Him, even to the point of death? How well would this conference play to the Iraqi or Syrian Christians who are having their heads sliced off right now because the world hates Whom they represent?

We are NOT change agents, we are sinners who have been washed clean and as a result follow and obey Christ.

Change Agents are about us, not about Him. We ought to call ourselves disciplers. Sadly, we are so focused on reclaiming some idea of the “7 Mountain Mandate” (which is not in the Bible), that we’ve lost sight of God’s eternal glory.

Sigh.

If you want to focus on yourself, have at it:

During this event, you will discover:

  • The life-changing processes that God uses to raise His change agents
  • Clarity on the reasons why God made you and your unique purpose
  • How to contend for your God-given destiny
  • How to hear Gods voice more clearly in your life
  • The roots of adversity and why God allows it
  • The four primary reasons people do not fulfill their God-ordained purpose
  • The 6 stages God uses to raise up His change agents
  • Understand the Joseph Calling and the process God uses to make His “Josephs”
  • How to gain freedom from hindrances to fully experience the love of the Father
  • How childhood wounds affect our ability to experience God’s love for us and how to get free from them
  • What it means to have a biblical worldview and how an understanding of this helps us fulfill God’s calling for our lives, and protect us from the enemy’s schemes
  • 7 in-depth teaching sessions with discussion times and Q&A
  • In-depth teaching on the 7 mountains of culture and how to be a catalyst for influence*

I think that it is more than a little problematic to use the "dominionist" tag to lump rock solid, biblically sound Christians in with off-the-charts crazy and wildly unbiblical groups. It frustrates me in the same way that pagans referring to Mormons as "Christian" frustrates me.

Along those lines, what do you all make of the Great Commission and its natural, real-world consequences? That'd be GREAT show topic, I think.

I'd also like to hear someone explain why the Christian understanding of real world change right here and now via the practical application of the Gospel via the Great Commission is no more "giving man the credit" for that change than it is "giving man the credit" in salvation when we, His obedient people, obey His command to proclaim and/or repent in response to the Gospel.

It is ALL of God and by His grace – the preaching, the saving, and the living in obedience, which, by definition, MUST change the world for the better.

Just my two cents…would love to hear these points examined on air…

    Keep fighting the good fight!

boy that's a lot of steps… 6 stages, roots of adversity, the Joseph calling, 7 mountains, 7 teachings, contend for your God given destiny?? Please show me where the Joseph calling is in the Bible! Sounds pretty complicated and I can only learn this from this one conference and by being in this elite group.

I'm exhausted just thinking about it, Prudence. 🙂

    Hi,

Because we do not bring in God's kingdom. God does. We are to go out and preach the gospel to the world, help the poor, etc. We will NEVER change the world. The world is on the road to destruction. There will be a fake 'world peace,' a fake 'unity,' and a one world religion and one world government, a fake 'revival,' or 'global awakening,' that will fool most. But, it will be ruled over by the antichrist, and then God showers His wrath and judgments, the earth melts away down to the elements (2 Peter 3), and Jesus returns and at that time HE brings in the kingdom at His return. But they forget that the antichrist's kingdom appears first. It is a very convenient deception by the real 'change agents' of this current apostasy. The focus needs to be on God, not man, not ourselves. We need to fall at the foot of God's throne, not at the foot of our mirrors. Did you know that the church of satan teaches people to worship themselves? The churches have been infiltrated by satan and his army. And our destiny? Repent and follow Jesus by denying yourself unto the death.

“Job 40:7-14 "Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me:
"Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified?
Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His? Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, And array yourself with glory and beauty. Disperse the rage of your wrath; Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low; Tread down the wicked in their place. Hide them in the dust together, Bind their faces in hidden darkness. Then I will also confess to you That your own right hand can save you.”

Notice the last verse, we cannot even save ourselves from ourselves.

“John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

We do not tell God what we are going to do, we are to listen to Him and do what He commands. What foolishness people do. It is amazing what the church can accomplish without God!

    Thank you for this post!

The focus on this and so many other "ministries' is YOU…not Him. So true.
I just came out of a church plant that was heavily influenced by Tim Keller and I saw it in action. Man centered and culturally acceptable is all the rave with these people and the focus is solely on YOU…even to the point of training disciples to contextualize the gospel so as not to offend! A complete 180 from scripture. The "offense" is what brings us to our knees.

Please keep calling them out, guys. It is appreciated.
