Dr. Michael Brown scolds Bill Johnson’s “critics” for skipping radio show

Dr. Michael Brown took to Twitter today to express disappointment that non-Charismatic Christians skipped out on the opportunity to be on the radio and challenge Brown’s support of notorious NAR cult leader Bill Johnson of Bethel in Redding, Calif.

Calling discerning Christians “critics” with “perverted doctrine,” Johnson humbly attacked two well-known Christian apologists on Brown’s “The Line Of Fire” call-in radio show as an invited guest earlier this week.

Brown begins by telling listeners he wants critics to know what makes Bill Johnson’s heart beat, and what Johnson’s latest book, God is Good, is all about. He also said he wanted to give Johnson a chance to respond to those who question the charges of heresy Johnson is well known for teaching.

“You’re not one to respond in kind,” says Brown of Pastor Phil Johnson of Grace Community Church, and Wretched Radio’s Todd Friel. “As a brother in the Lord, how do you feel about the criticism of Bethel and Jesus Culture that flows out of Bethel music?”

“Sad,” says Johnson. “I hope they will not have to reap the seeds they have sown. A lot of times they believe rumor or speculation or their own to me perverted doctrine that distorts how we’re supposed to live life.”

Check out this review of that interview at Churchwatch Central’s  When liars defend liars: Dr Michael Brown whitewashes the heresies of Bill Johnson:

There were more serious questions Michael Brown failed to address in his interview, such as: “What is the New Apostolic Reformation and are how are you a part of it?”

Folks – Dr Brown is demonstrating a total lack of discernment. If Dr Brown has heard claims that someone is a “heretic” and a “false prophet”, do you think that person will confess to being a heretic and a false prophet? To insist that a heretic is a Christian brother while deliberately misrepresenting Christians brothers such as Todd Friel and Phil Johnson – says enough about the subtle deceptive nature of NARpostle Dr. Michael Brown. You do not give a false teacher air time to convince people they are legitimate. False teachers speak the language of Satan, for the truth is not in them. They will happily lie and distort the truth to further their own ‘devilish’ agenda.

Here’s the entire interview, in which Johnson denies teaching heresy including “grave-sucking.”

My question is: why even bother? The bible says we will know them because of their fruit……. Anyone who has any discernment can see that Bethel is but a cult, and its leader is Bill Johnson. We know the NAR is beating a path to Rome along with her harlot sisters, ecumenism is the rule of Churchianity. Pity those that fall into her snare.

I agree, manny. it all seems like a lot of wasted time and energy

It is Christian responsibility to expose those who teach falsely and warn Christians about those who teach falsely.

Dr. Brown is coming to my area in a few weeks for a ‘pre election conferernce’ with Rick Joyner and someone who is associated with the NAR. I can practically prophesy what is going to happen there and what is going to be said. After all it is a pre election conference so it is focused on the election.

One NAP prophet suggest that Hillary is Jezebel and Trump is Samson.

      John,

“One NAR prophet suggest that Hillary is Jezebel and Trump is Samson.” This kind of gross misrepresentation of what this election and it’s candidates are is the reason some Christians have fallen into the trap that “we must vote Trump in because he isn’t Hillary”.
When the scripture is clear that it only takes a little leaven to leaven the whole lump.

I expect this kind of thinking from these false teachers. But, many well meaning Christians have also drank the kool aid. The lesser of two evils is still evil. Trump is no more God’s man for saving America than Obama was.

Trump was pro death before his current run for office. He is also pro homosexual rights. What part of this can be blessed by God? What part of this can we take as having God’s stamp of approval? If he fails in these very basic things, how can he succeed in the very difficult ones?

These false teachers are the ones who started giving Trump their stamp of approval. Now it has spread to the rest of the church. And I think it has because of fear. And that is never a good reason for a godly choice about anything.
A good tree can not produce bad fruit. Neither can a bad tree produce good fruit. A tree is known by it’s fruit.

      Blessings:-}

I have found listening to Bill Johnson teaching to be a mind bending experience. It sounds like gobbledygook. He takes a biblical principle and twists it into something unrecognizable. Yet his followers ooh and ah, as if Johnson is some great guru. The reason may be that they are inebriated with mystical practices. Bad tree = bad fruit.

I have appreciated these informative insights to the teachings of Bill Johnson.

I have only seen quotes and snippets by Dr Brown on face book. Other wise, I never knew he had a radio show. I noticed Todd friel was mentioned. That guy was a clueless guy who should have never been on the radio. I would listen to him when he had a show on KKMS here in MN. I would call him all the time and rebuke him for getting scripture wrong and making claims that he would never live out. He is a hypocrite.

If readers have read a biography of Martin Luther. He was not calling all the stranges charismatics beasts of his time brothers in Christ, like people do. Brown is just another heretic. Anyway things are getting worst with all those lunatics that some call brothers in Christ. By the way how do we become christians ?

      Hi Claude,
My apologies if your ques on how one becomes a Christian was rhetorical. In case it wasn’t, and for those who might not know:

A person becomes a Christian by hearing and believing the Gospel, which is the Good News that:

“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
      and that He was buried,
and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
      (1 Cor 15:3,4 see also vs 1,2)”

The moment we hear & believe that Gospel message, and put our trust in Christ’s sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins, we are saved. At that moment we are baptized by the Holy Spirit and sealed into Christ (Eph 1:13).

Thereafter, God begins His work of sanctification, conforming us to the Image of His Beloved Son & making us Holy as He Himself is Holy. God does this by the renewing of our mind as we read & apply His Word in the Bible. Blessings to you in Christ, ~Brenda

I do not even know who Brown is, much less know he even had a radio show. So, how could I possibly have “tuned” in to give an opinion on Johnson. As far as Brown and Joyner coming to speak prior to the election, okay, so what is that going to do for me? Not much because I have my decision made based upon pray, research, more prayer, and more research. I am voting on more than the president of the U.S., as we all are. I think I am glad I don’t know who Brown is….he is so “humble” in his appeal to the fellow believers. Humans, you just gotta love ’em and sometimes leave ’em.

Dr. Brown, did you know that Chris Rosebrough called in to your radio show? it is around the 66 minute mark. Cheaters don’t admit to cheating unless they have little choice when confronted with evidence, same way heretics won’t admit to teaching heresy. the difference is the heretics don’t care about evidence.

    Wow. You lot are wicked.
You will know them by their fruits is so true. Guys your fruit is rotten.
If you put as much effort into loving the lost as you are at being hateful to good men who are doing kingdom life you would be much more fulfilled.

I’ve met Michael and Bill and these men are the real deal. Full of love, power and truth. Their fruit is fine and good. They represent his kingdom but you are filthy.

I pray for your arrogance and religious pride.

Marty, Do you read the Bible? I mean seriously, have you ever read it? The Bible warns us of wolves in sheeps clothing, and false teachers and false prophets. Are you aware that the apostle Paul said, wolves will come from with in our own ranks, you do understand that Paul was saying, the wolves wlll come from with in our own churchs and people. You also understand the Bible tells us to rebuke, correct and mark and avoid those that cause problems contrary to scripture. So it seems if you read your bible you would know this.

    Marty,

I would encourage you to read some of the very informative links I have given above.
