End-time Apostle and Prophet, Lou Engle–The New Billy Graham?

According to NAR  “prophet” Lou Engle, God has revealed that Billy Graham’s mantle “will soon pass, not to just an individual, but to an entire nation.”  Holly Pivec of Spirit of Error fills us in on a prophecy God supposedly revealed to Engle. Pivec writes:

Lou Engle, founder of The Call and a leader in the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), has been making an audacious claim to audiences in large stadiums and churches across America: that the “mantle” of the aged Billy Graham is about to fall on him and his followers. In other words, Billy Graham isn’t dead yet and Engle has billed himself as the Holy Spirit’s chosen successor to Graham. Of course, Engle doesn’t word his claim quite that directly; you have to read between the lines. Let me explain.

For those who don’t know, a “mantle,” in the NAR, refers to a special empowerment given by the Holy Spirit to a specific individual for a certain purpose. When that individual dies, the mantle can be given to another person. Think of the transfer of empowerment and leadership between the Old Testament prophets Elijah and Elisha, or between Moses and Joshua.

Billy Graham is seen, by those in the NAR, as having been given a mantle for the effective proclamation of the gospel in large stadiums. But Engle claims God has revealed to him that Graham’s mantle will soon pass, not to just an individual, but to an entire nation. And it won’t be limited to proclamation of the gospel with words; it will be a souped-up mantle for the proclamation of the gospel accompanied by miraculous signs and wonders. The ultimate result of this baton pass will be a spiritual “awakening” and the turning back of America to God.  Of course, Engle, who happens to host stadium-sized prayer-and-fasting events through his organization The Call, will receive a pivotal portion of this mantle.  Continue reading

How is it that this NAR bunch have gotten so involved with so many evangelical groups? I thought that these people would have greater discernment than this.

    Blessings:-}

Ed, this partnership/unity among NAR, evangelical groups, and Roman Catholicism has been in the works for many decades now. If you are interested, there are articles on http://herescope.blogspot.com that document this ecumenical progression.

So we are supposed to believe that this sin-filled, wicked, unrepentant, arrogant, rebellious, unGodly nation called America will receive BG’s mantle…? A nation now trusting in a new president that will make all things rights, new and good again. A person who can’t even utter God’s most Holy name in public, in speeches and in his platform to “make America Great Again”? C’mon now…

Folks, false prophets are arising like all over and claiming this and that is from God. Really?. My advice – don’t believe them until YOU search the scriptures – be a Berean (Acts 17:11) and see if what they are saying is of God.

Amen! Amen! People unfortunately are relying on politicians not God. They can’t see the judgement, this nation has forsaken God, it murders it’s children, to the tune of 57 million plus since 1973, it’s mantra is ” do as you will.” Well, the chickens have come home to roost. Never in my life have I seen such disgrace in a society, the telling point how low the leadership has become, when the given choices are a thieving pathological liar or a hedonist egocentric land developer, quite telling what passes as leadership material. God is our provider, not man. This is all rapidly coalescing, a false religion right along with a broken ungodly government, the time is ripe for the world to follow a strong leader, one who will “solve” the issues of the day. Then it’ll be too late…………… Maranatha!

Well said Manny. Jesus said that his kingdom was not of this world, therefore ours shouldn’t be either. We should flee politics and all things related to temporal power, and instead preach the eternal kingdom of Jesus Christ, who redeemed us from sin with his own blood. I never get tired of this scripture from Revelation 1:

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Amen and amen brother! I’m so torn in my soul, I see scenarios coming together so fast now, the clock is rapidly winding down, the apostasy grows deeper daily, false teachers and apostles come out of the woodwork just about everyday, and yet so many can’t see the implications of what is occurring……….. May our Blessed God protect His own.

This idea of passing mantles is not new. I previously read that Billy Graham received by impartation mantles from others decades ago.
    See: http://herescope.blogspot.com/2007/04/early-networks.html

Another thought is that a 40-day fast would put individuals in a vulnerable state in which they are more likely to accept false teaching, visions and voices–much like what happens with the prolonged “worship” time of NAR/IHOP that puts people in a semi-hypnotic state.

    Hi Maggie,

Nutrient deprevation is a technique used by “security” forces to brainwash prisoners, it has been shown that a lack of food leaves the individual vulnerable to “suggestion.” This is completely different than biblical fasting, which serves a different purpose. Truly the world keeps filling these apostate organizations. The word of God replaced by “feelings” and conjecture. They can’t see they’re imploding under judgement. Maranatha!

      Manny,
I keep coming back to wondering how many of these “Christians” in NAR are truly saved because they have not heard the true gospel. To put things in perspective, there is nothing new under the sun! People are naturally seduced by power and sensual spiritual practices, and God’s Word is not enough for them.

  6. Manny1962 December 11, 2016 at 5:43 pm #

I’m with you. The bible says the apostasy will be great. It”s already here, what I find perplexing is the nonchalant attitude by so many, that should know better.

  7. ChurchSalt December 11, 2016 at 9:45 pm #

The NAR is playing an important part in fulfulling biblical prophecy:

“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.”

I simply marvel at the level of blindness it takes to support such a group!

Amen CS, so many just can’t see it!
