Hillsong: Houston IS The Problem

Bud Ahlheim of Pulpit & Pen fills us in on what the problem is.  Hint: Brian Houston and the false prosperity gospel coming from Hillsong.  Bud offers many examples of why churches should reconsider using this popular group’s music during worship. Words matter, as you will see:

According to Brian Houston we can “…see opportunities with spiritual eyes and attract the favor of God.”

Brian Houston’s autobiographical fodder entitled Live Love Lead, published in 2015 by Faith Words, an indicia of Hatchette Book Group Inc (It certainly is a “hatchet” job on truth!), is hyped to be “a transformative approach to life” that will “help you navigate a faith path that is all your own.”  By implementing “his own life-tested experiences and the powerful biblical truths he’s learned,” you too may harness techniques that will “enable you to live fully, love completely, and lead boldly – the hallmarks of Jesus’ time on earth.”

Among the many endorsements plastered prior to the book’s preface and emblazoned upon the back cover, there should be one sufficient enough to warn off the discerning.  Rick Warren, the false teacher of the Southern Baptist Convention and wanna-be pope of unbiblical ecumenism, wrote, “This is a remarkable book by a remarkable man.  You will love his transparency and passion!”

Really?  His transparency?  Our friends down under seem to have been giving Houston quite a bit of a row over the issue of his “transparency.”  According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Hillsong seems to be quite the opaque “money making machine.”

“While Hillsong’s charismatic leader Brian Houston presides over a glitzy religious empire, he has not only had to face a Royal Commission grilling, but questions over theology, money and his church’s treatment of homosexuals.”

That Hillsong is an empire is unquestioned.  It is estimated that the “church” rakes in over $100 million annually from its growing international and media (read: music) operations.  Called by the article “the reigning couple of Australian Pentecostalism,” Houston and wife Bobbie “pulled in tax-free revenues of nearly $80 million in Australia” in 2014.  The three adult children of the couple are also among the upper leadership of the organization.

The empire includes “church plants” on four continents in 15 countries with a radio and television outreach that stretches into 160 nations around the globe.  That “narrow path” warned about in Scripture seems to have been surreptitiously widened for Hillsong and its ilk.

The notion is that God is blessing Hillsong is as equally erroneous as its claim of transparency. That God is merely blessing the obedience of Houston is unfounded when casting a discerning eye at the theology upon which this empire is built.  It is nothing short of a word of faith, prosperity gospel heresy, substantially driven by a finely tuned marketing campaign of contemporary “Christian” music blasted at undiscerning multitudes via Hillsong Music.

For those of us in America, accustomed as we are to expecting the typical prosperity gospel heretic to be bedecked in the accouterments of gaudy wardrobes and bouffant hairstyles, slathered heavily with thick lashed makeup and insincere glimmering grins, the Hillsong Houston duo betray this stereotype.  Continue reading

Hillsong is not a church, Hillsong is an apostate organization which uses “Christian ” terminology to fool undiscerning and deceived people into joining it’s pantheistic , money making agenda. It is emergent to its core, it will hold hands with anyone that can bring it money and more fame, it is worldly, anti-Christian and anyone knowingly staying in that abomination is guilty by association, you call yourself a follower of Jesus Christ? Then get out! Now! There’s no excuse! There’s nothing Christian in that harlotry! I saw some of the video with the “cowboy” it is utterly disgusting what Hillsong does! It’s akin to having a stripper dancing while a pastor delivers a sermon! Unbelievable! And how many blind, foolish, feel-good advocates stay in that hellish organization! Please, don’t ever say we are not seeing The Great Apostasy unfurling before our eyes! I warn anyone connected with Hillsong, please get out! It is not of God! It is not of Jesus Christ! Christians! Read your bibles! Pray! Pray! Houston is a wolf, beware.

Most excellent comment, Manny. With not too much study, the same case can be made for every flavor of what passes itself off to be “Christian” today. There is no “denomination” that could be excluded and no national/international figure in Christendom that has not compromised himself and the gospel that he may espouse—NONE. As the God sent delusion grows stronger in the world, the regenerate believers should also find more strength in the Lord Jesus. Here is the line that separates the real from the fake: it’s either give into the lies or seek the Lord’s favor more fervently.

This is to be expected in these evil times. That is why celebrities flock to it, I guess…

Amen Darrel and Susan, yes as this world grows darker the deception grows stronger. What leaves me slack jawed is the complacency being shown by so called leaders in high places! These are the hypocrites that do their best to castigate and bad mouth the remnant (the true church, the bride) when the “right” politicians aren’t supported, they love to blame us for the corruption in the culture, blaming us for not being politically involved and not voting in the “pro” Christian candidate. Why don’t they castigate Hillsong and the Warrens of the world with the same vigor they do us? Can’t they see this harlotry is what the culture at large associates with Christianity? Hypocrites! Clean house first! Get rid of and denounce the wolves behind the pulpits, then worry about evangelizing the culture at large!

Will Brian Houston survive the death of his ministry as an act of kindness from his Almighty Judge to straighten him out. His theology is not biblical as Kenneth Copeland’s theology is not biblical. As the end of the Age of Pisces the Fish is upon us all, Banker gangsters in Europe and America will fall. An all out world war three will be avoided for now by the hand of a graceful Creator that these elite’s (Albert Pike) are planning. This will only be delayed for a true Christian evangelization of the whole world. The God most of you do not believe in, is kinder than I would be.

Manny1962: Hillsong is NOT a Church is true and correct, more like a satanic abyss of entertainment. Yes, read our Bibles!
