The Left vs. Reality

Lee Duigon’s depiction of liberals can also be said about Progressive (liberal) Christians a.k.a Social Justice Christians. For these folks, truth matters not.  They choose not to find God’s truth in the pages of Scripture and instead hang their hat on their own personal experience — so don’t confuse them with facts. Progressives, you see, are all about “feelings.” (This also applies to those who’ve bought into the New Apostolic Reformation and Word of Faith cults.) Just like the Roman Catholic pope (as Duigon points out) Progressive Christians push a political agenda.  And like Francis, they’ll marginalize anyone who disagrees with them and even resort to violence, as you will see in Duigon’s piece over at News With Views. He writes:

Everyone’s entitled to his own opinion, Sen. Daniel Moynihan once said, long ago, but no one’s entitled to his own facts. Obviously Moynihan was talking about some planet other than ours.

It started in the universities, where all this poison hatches out, the idea that a text, any text, can only mean what the reader thinks it means. Academics liked this so much, they quickly applied it to everything. And we wound up having to say a man is a woman because he “identifies as a woman.”

Our public discourse today, at least that part of it that’s hurled at us by liberals, rests on the replacement of ascertainable facts by assertions that liberals want to be facts. They demand we base policy on whatever it is they say—because, after all, there’s no such thing as truth, there’s only politics. The rest of us are expected to let them define reality for everyone.

So last week it was the Red Pope, Francis I, solemnly assuring us that there’s no such thing as Muslim terrorism, that “it does not exist.” Does he think it’s Methodists who yell “Allahu akbar!” as they drive a truck into a crowd of defenseless people? Does he think ISIS is just some kind of Middle Eastern Lions Club? We are talking facts here, but he denies the facts. He doesn’t like them, so he denies them. And the rest of us are expected to nod our heads and say “He’s right!”

In the same speech, the spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic Church, having just denied that Muslim terrorism exists, went into yet another sales pitch for Man-Made Climate Change, which we are pretty sure does not exist. Gotta pony up that carbon tax, says the Pope, and give governments all sorts of sweeping new powers to meddle with our lives, so they can Save The Planet: otherwise we’re all gonna die, blah-blah.

This guy’s just too much. He warns us to beware “what happens when we deny science and disregard the voice of nature.” He expresses concern for “our Sister Mother Earth.” Now he’s a prophet who speaks for Mother Earth. It doesn’t seem to matter to him how often NOAA and NASA and the rest of the Climate Change mob get caught lying and cheating. These are his facts—his facts—and he demands the world act according to his own personal definition of reality.

This is getting to be dangerous.   Continue reading

The ultimate religion will be Churchianity mixed with politics. The false prophet (religious leader) will compel the world to worship the beast (political leader.) Protestants are flocking to Rome, the world hungers for a strong leader! Amazing days we live in. No matter what stripe of apostasy affects each denomination in churchianity, they all have one common denominator, ecumenism.

Thanks for the left vs. reality. What a nice reflection of the avenues upon which our society is descending. It’s a rush, is it not? A rush to see who can deny Christ and take a slide. Deny Christ and take a slide. Maybe it could be an Olympic game? In my research as a Christian writer, I stumbled upon a three question act, which helped me discern which direction a given conversation might be going – usually downhill when they discovered my stand for Christ and my three questions. I bring them here because they seem to fit the article.
    1) Do you believe in God and the Bible?
    2) Do you believe in Christ and Salvation through Him alone?
    3) Any social question of the day?

What fun and interesting time this is as these three questions raise the same response over and over. So many people refuse to acknowledge the first two questions as being relevant for our day and age, while they want to move the third question to the top.

Give these a try and see what happens for you. Oh, and bring along some extra clothes. some of the answers are less than polite.

I believe the enemy uses devices and means cleverishly disguised, and that his devices are at work in all segments of culture. “Churches” are not off limits in the enemy’s strategies.

The foregoing in view, I am uncomfortable when the author of this writing is, among other things, a horror novelist.

Be mindful of the times and events. Also, be mindful of who brings the message.

I’m a little uncomfortable with the politicized christian view.
