Progressive Christians to ‘Take Back Their Faith’ After Election

Derryck Green of Juicy Ecumenicism makes it clear that, when determining what is right and wrong, good and evil from a biblical perspective, those who call themselves “progressive Christians” (liberals) are in no position to take the moral high ground.  Green lays into those who pose as evangelicals but whose main goal is the redefinition of traditional Christianity, people such as popular author, blogger and speaker Rachel Held Evans and Jim Wallis of Sojourners, a far-left organization.   Green closes his piece with this challenge for wolves in sheep’s clothing: “If progressive Christians are really concerned about the future of their faith, they may want to consider what faith is really of concern – Leftism or Christianity.”

Now listen to what Derryck Green has to say about the snare of liberal “Christianity”:

A week after the election, the Huffington Post published a blog entry in which Progressive Christians suggested what like-minded Christians should do in order to “take back their faith.”

Still reeling from the election in which Donald Trump was elected president, several progressive Christians pondered the necessary steps to draw a stronger contrast between their brand of kindhearted progressive Christianity, and the kind of conservative, evangelical Christianity that helped elect Donald Trump.

The responses were predictably representative of left-wing Christianity, which centered on re-emphasizing social justice issues and identity politics as the “loving,” compassionate, anti-Trumpian counterpart to the hate-filled Christianity of the right. Also predictably representative was the tone of unearned moral superiority in the responses of the progressive Christians interviewed – and progressive Christians in general.

For example, Rachel Held Evans said,

We’re about to witness firsthand what happens when the established Church compromises its moral authority and sells out the marginalized ― refugees, immigrants, religious and ethnic minorities, sexual assault survivors, the sick and those with disabilities, and LGBT people ― for the promise of power. It won’t be pretty.”

Rev. Jacqueline Lewis, a New York-based pastor and activist added,

“I’m going to fight for people to have jobs, for everyone to have enough. I’m going to fight against racism and xenophobia. I’m going to fight for black lives. I’m going to fight for LGBT rights… I’m going to fight for love.”

Lewis added,

“Maybe what’s happening is progressive people of faith are finding ways to connect around our shared beliefs that all people are children of God … All of those people are joining together right now, we’re… plotting and planning how to resist together… to me is the new religion, the new Christianity.”

Benjamin Corey suggested that, “This election revealed that a far larger branch of Christianity has been married off to political power than we previously thought,” emphasizing that the religious right is more concerned with political power than the actual gospel of Christ.

Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners and author of America’s Original Sin, claimed, “White Christians voted just like white people in America did, and being Christian didn’t matter much. So how do we teach white Christians, white evangelicals to be more Christian than white? That’s the issue going forward.”

Wallis – reflecting on Jesus’ counsel regarding the relationship between treating a ‘stranger’ and treating Jesus – suggested that pastors allow their churches to become sanctuaries to protect illegal aliens from deportation.   Continue reading

yes it is time to do away with the 5013c–if your preachers cannot make it without it–find you another job–

Politics and Christianity, completely contradictory. The NAR, the RCC and American Churchianity believe they have a mandate to Christianize society. Did Jesus or the apostles do anything to save the Roman and Jewish governments? The society at large? Were Christians ever mandated to take over for Christ? We all felt the pressure to vote for the “right” candidate this election cycle unlike any other. Hillary Clinton proved herself a wicked and untrustworthy leader, Mr. Trump will no doubt disappoint those who believe he is the panacea for the ills of this society.

Actually we were mandated by Jesus Christ as his Disciples

      Matthew 28:18-20

“And Jesus came up and spoke to them saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.’ And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. …and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you: He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but He who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day; and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.”

Yes we are ambassadors of Jesus Christ for salvation unto the world, not for political reasons, we preach the gospels not political ideology, we remind and exhort believers and warn and pray for unbelievers. The gospels are a stench of death to some and a fragrance of life for others.

Show me a passage in scripture where it says we must support, vote for, or espouse a political ideology, these are left to the individual to partake or not as his conscience dictates. In fact, the Christian’s responsibility toward secular government is explicitly ordered by Jesus………render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, pay your taxes, obey authority as long as it does not violate the word of God, be wary of authority as it doesn’t carry the sword for nothing. In other words follow the laws as long as they do not interfere with the laws of God.

Christian influence is not only in preaching the gospel, but in voting for the candidate that best represents Christian ideology. Laws are a reflection of society and should always reflect our Christian nature…the beginnings of our country was built on the laws of God. It is not wise to neglect the responsibility of influencing society through political means.

            Good afternoon,

In light of the recent revelation in the political arena, which candidate would you consider to “best represent Christian ideology?” All are corrupt, all are antichristian in thought, deed and speech. There’s no “left” or “right” political spectrum, that was over years ago. The system is wholly corrupt. Trump Hillary, they’re liers, both parties are for show purposes, two names one agenda. Did Trump drain the swamp? Did Hillary do anything for justice?

As I’ve said before, vote your conscience, but under no circumstance believe that politicians, lawmakers and judges stand for anything Christian. The beginning of this country WAS founded in a framework of Christian ideals, those ideals were discarded years ago. Israel was founded through direct intervention by God, they like this country neglected God, Israel was carried into slavery and punished most harshly, it lead to the destruction of the state, now it’s been brought back by God to fulfill it’s place in history (Revelation.) America, has no covenant with God, recently this land approved and made into law the sin that got two cities burnt to the ground, in 1973 this land enacted as law the murder of innocent children to the tune of 57 million plus sacrificed on the altar of convinience, a number that would make any pagan priest of Moloch envious. Has any politician ever tried to change this country? Toward God, no! Toward the devil? Absolutely.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!
The social gospel is satanic. Remember Jeremiah Wright?

Thanks Marsha for bringing this to our attention:-)
    Blessings:-}

So when do we talk about the Conservative Christian. I don’t see God/Christ there either. The color of our skin does not, I mean should not have anything to do with our relationship with the Father. Neither side is going to get us where He needs us to be, lets be real here.
