When A False Teacher Calls America “Israel”

Many people believe that Jonathan Cahn is a modern day prophet and that his books contain “special revelation.” For this reason his books have become best sellers, especially in Christian circles.  His first book, The Harbinger, sold like hotcakes and as a result he became a sought after speaker and frequent guest on the radio talk show circuit. His most recent book, The Mystery of Shemitah, is also a best seller.

One of Cahn’s many critics is Pastor Bob DeWaay of Critical Issues.  DeWaay penned a book review of Shemitah which we urge visitors to Berean Research to read.  In his review, DeWaay puts to rest the notion that Jonathan Cahn has received “special revelation” as he claims.  He also puts to rest the notion that this man is in any way shape or form a prophet of God.

We urge our brethren to exercise extreme caution–and spiritual discernment–before diving into one of Jonathan Cahn’s books.

Jonathan Cahn promoting his book to It's Supernatural host Sid Roth who, time and time again, has shown an astonishing lack of discernment.

Jonathan Cahn promoting his book to It’s Supernatural host Sid Roth who, time and time again, has shown an astonishing lack of discernment.

When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. But the Lord’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. (Deuteronomy 32:8-9 ESV)

Jonathan Cahn, a popular Christian author, claims that his books reveal mysteries and predict the future. He thus portrays himself as like the Biblical prophets, including the claim of having new revelations. The main point of his book is that America is a second Israel and that she is being judged according to the seven-year Sabbath law called “shemitah” that was given to ancient Israel. This judgment manifests itself in seven-year cycles of stock market collapses or other cataclysmic events. The next one is due the fall of 2015, according to Cahn. I will show that these claims are false and that Cahn is not a true prophet of God.

Prophets Reveal Mysteries

The apostle Paul claims that he was chosen by God to reveal mysteries as were the other apostles. The gospel itself was the mystery of which he spoke. We see this in Ephesians 3:

that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief. By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, (Ephesians 3:3-6)

A mystery is something that would not be known had God not chosen to reveal it through His appointed spokespersons. These are Moses and the prophets in the Old Testament, and Christ and His appointed apostles and prophets in the New Testament. The writings of the Biblical prophets in Scripture are inerrant and infallible. In the Scriptures we have revealed all the mysteries that will be known until Christ returns.

However, Jonathan Cahn, who is not one of the Biblical prophets, claims to reveal mysteries: “The Harbringer and The Mystery of the Shemitah are not only revealing mysteries but also the sounding of the alarms.”1 Cahn’s claim to be a revealer of mysteries is strong and severely problematic: “Much that will be revealed in this book has never before been revealed in written form” (Cahn: 2). This is a rather bold claim that echoes the apostle Paul’s cited above. He claims to have special revelation like the biblical authors. The problem is that Cahn did not see the resurrected Christ and was not appointed by Him like Paul and the other apostles. Cahn has no standing as an apostle or prophet and his writings are not binding as Scripture is.

Referencing his previous book Cahn repeats his grand claim: “The Harbringer contains 14 major revelations or mysteries” (Cahn: 4). Unlike Paul and the other apostles, Cahn was not personally taught by Christ, but he still claims prophetic status based on subjective, inner voices: “I heard an inner voice say, ‘There’s a mystery here. You must seek and find it” (Cahn: 9). Religious leaders claiming special revelations and special status are nothing new. Hundreds of false groups have started that way. We need to decide whether to believe anyone who claims special revelation beyond Scripture.

When Questions Imply Everything and Teach Nothing

ConfusionOne of the annoying characteristics of many postmodern writers is to use questions that seem to make a claim but have built-in deniability. I noticed this trend when researching the Emergent movement for a book I wrote. They ask questions but refuse to make objective statements, thus creating confusion while appearing to teach something. Cahn follows a similar process, filling his books with suggestive questions so that readers have to scour through every word (as I did) to find out if these are meant to be definitive statements. For example: “Could the mystery of the Shemitah still be at work—moving, impacting, and altering the course of world history—even in the modern world, even in our day”? (Cahn: 42). So he creates confusion with a question, when in fact this is a claim he is making—which I will show is a false one. The Law of Moses that requires cancelling all debts every seven years is not binding on any but Israel in the Old Testament, so it can hardly be the key to world history. Cahn is the master at sowing confusion.

Is America the New Israel?

Cahn often repeats what I call our national myth—that America is somehow the new Israel. This myth goes back to beginning of our history but cannot be sustained by any biblical standard. The myth is based on the belief that man can unilaterally make a covenant and bind God to it, without God having agreed to anything. Cahn claims, “Embedded in America’s foundation is a prophetic warning. The warning was given on America’s first day as a nation. It concerns what will happen if America should ever turn away from God” (Cahn: 21). For such a warning to be valid and binding, it would have to be issued by an infallible prophet who speaks for God, in this case, beyond scripture. Who, exactly, is America’s Moses, or Jesus, or the apostles? Lacking any such person, God cannot have stated that America is Israel and has a binding covenant. That she does is our national myth.

The truth is that God draws out the boundaries of all nations through His providence. The truths revealed in Romans 13 and elsewhere about how Christians relate to civil governments applied to Rome when Paul wrote and all civil governments in history. Only Israel was directly established by God and had a binding covenant mediated through Moses who God chose and appointed. America has neither a Moses nor a binding covenant. We are not the new Israel and never have been. The moral laws of God that do apply are found in the Bible and they apply to all people in all nations.

Cahn falsely claims that any nation can become a covenant nation: “Such a prophetic sign could be given to any nation as long as that nation in some way matched the description or shared the attributes of ancient Israel in 586 BC” (Cahn: 56). Cahn obviously fails to understand what Moses taught in Deuteronomy 32:8, 9 (cited at the beginning of this article). Only Israel was directly under Yahweh, all the other nations are under the “sons of God.” No other nations had an Exodus, a Sinai, or a Moses. All nations are ruled by God’s providence and are under the principalities and powers (‘sons of God’ of Deuteronomy 32:8). America is no exception. Cahn again repeats our national myth: “Those who founded America not only foretold its future blessing—but also gave warning. It was this: If America ever turned away from God, then the same judgments that fell upon ancient Israel would fall upon America” (Cahn: 61). Israel had Moses and the prophets who spoke inerrantly for God. Who speaks bindingly for God beyond Scripture for America? There is no such person.

I reject Cahn’s claim that America is somehow Israel. All the moral laws of God always apply to all peoples in all nations. They are revealed in Scripture. All geo-political entities have boundaries that are drawn out by God in His providence and have leaders that His providence allows. In these important ways America is like all nations. We are not Israel. Furthermore, no man or nation has the power or authority to bind God to a man-made, unilateral covenant. Unilateral covenants in the Bible are established by God, not man. We need to reject the myth that America is a special covenant nation and start thinking Biblically rather than mythologically.  Continue reading

I am getting a feeling that Cahn is the Luciferian fulfilling false prophet and Pope Francis will be the antichrist. Just a crazy hunch.

100% correct but what he is a Heretic and False Prophet that the Bible warns about in end times. Watch his and hands on Sat, Sept 26, 2020 near the end after the blowing of the Shofars and the prayer he says. Both hands held as symbols of Satan in front of the world and not one word about it? The guy is creepy. How can Christians be so terribly blind. Thousands of them. Blubbering about him being a Prophet. The Great Deception right in front of the White House. Satanic hand symbol is the vulcan hand symbol De V il. He is ushering in Satan to position the AntiChrist.

If you know GODS word you would know what Johathon Cahn says is true. He backs everything up with scripture. The Bible tells us to watch out for people that want to change Gods word. America right now has commited two abominations aga inst GOD one the mass killing of unborn babies and homosexual marriage. God will not be mocked.

And our leaders have turned our backs on Him and on Israel. He is a watchman on the wall… You should never speak against another’s anointing! Every thing his says & writes he gives scripture to back up!!! All Isis saying is America please turn back to God!!! How can that be wrong! Check your Bible and your heart before you denounce someone.

Bernadette, My nation was the first in the world to turn their backs on God and we were the very first to introduce same sex marriages. (South Africa) and that was a good 7 years ago. Our small but mighty country gave, loved and honoured Israel. Israel shared her knowledge with us regarding nuclear capability. Then our once Godly goverment lost the country to pagan black savages through the control of the west who said Aparheid was the axes of evil. America was behind this way back when she began interefing in the running of other contries. But you see Bernadette it had to go that way as God was in control. God will judge America but not because Cahn says so. You can read about it in the Book Of Revelation. What you are seeing in America is what God warned us about in his word, yet people like you go dilly over a so called prophet when Gods word is full of prophecy. you are a foolish lady who has no discerment and its no wonder the church is in such deep trouble. The watcman on the wall is O/T but you would not know that as you dont read or study your bible as called to do by Paul. October is almost finished and nothing has happened and nothing will happen. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 1 Cor 3 verse 19. Mr Con man is crafty and God has begun to reveal his foolish. As time marches on more and more people will see that Cahn was wrong about God judging America IF she will not repent. There is coming NO revival but deep apostasy. God will judge ALL the nations together including America and Israel. Your country is a gentile nation and God sees her as this. But in amongst her is the small remnant of true believers and thats how it is. I got my information from the word and if you say I lie then you are calling God a liar. The office of a prophet is no more. Why do you think is. Here let me show you through the word.

“But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.” “That which is in part” refers to the gifts of prophecy, knowledge and tongues (vs. 8-9). What Paul is saying is that there will be a time when these sign gifts will cease because something better (the “perfect”) will replace them. There is some debate as to what the word “perfect” refers to. The two most common views are the completion of the Bible and the glorification of believers in heaven.

There is a difference between how prophecy and knowledge come to an end, and how the gift of languages (tongues) does, as indicated by the Greek verb forms used. (Prophecy does not mean forecasting or telling the future. The gift of prophecy in its true biblical definition means simply “speaking forth,” or “proclaiming publicly” to which the connotation of prediction was added sometime in the Middle Ages. Since the completion of Scripture, prophecy has not been a means of new revelation, but is limited to proclaiming what has already been revealed in the written Word.) 1 Cor 13 v 10. I hope you study and read these scriptures.

There will always be skeptics who won’t believe our time is short…..we can look around and see the spiral downward. Jonathan Cahn is telling us to be a watchman and be prepared for what could happen. The pattern is there and there is a good possibility it will follow suit…..I would rather be wrong and ready than right and unprepared!

Are you following the non biblical man made doctrines of modern Christianity?
Christmas, Easter, Sunday, The law has been replaced by grace, the church has replaced Israel, The law was nailed to the cross and is done away with . . . . . . .

Thou shalt not do so unto יהוה thy God: for every abomination to יהוה,

It is time to wake up PEOPLE. Here is the proper way to determine if someone is a “false prophet or teacher”

Are they Keeping the true Sabbath? The 7th day Sabbath established in Gen 2?
Are they Teaching, keeping and following the TORAH? Keeping his Commandments, A.K.A., Torah, the law, the 10 Commandments INCLUDING the Sabbath, not Sunday (Constantine changed Sabbath to sunday)
Are they adding to or taking away from scripture? I.E. The “New” Testament has replaced . . . . OR The Law has been replaced by grace

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
    (1Jn 2:3-7 KJV)

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
    (Deu 18:18-22 KJV)

Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
    (Deu 12:30-32 KJV)

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
    (Deu 13:1-11 KJV)

Gw Jesus fulfilled all. The Old Testament prophecies
We are under grace the law was a foreshadow pointing to Jesus Christ
Secondly keeping the sabbath the dietary law of Leviticus
And the ceremonial law the 430 commandments we were to keep
And the holy feast days found in the Old Testament were binding
To Moses and the children of Israel not gentiles
That would make you a judizer
What Peter was accused of in book of acts by Paul and the other apostles
When Peter refused to eat with the gentile Christian
And was listening to others saying that gentiles needed to be circumcised
To be a member of the Christian faith and follow the
Leviticus dietary law or keep the sabbath and the written ceremonial laws
Celebrate the feast days found in the Old Testament
Do you know what happened gw Paul and the other 10 apostles rebuked and corrected
      His false teachings on that

My problem is this on so many prophets, that you start believing, suddenly they end up talking to false prophets, and meeting them, after that i don’t like to see them Anymore, i hope Jonathan Cahn is not one of them false prophets, if he is I will never listen to him again, people keep your eyes and ears open, because you never know what you learn out side of the Bible, the best thing is just to stick with the Bible, research and look to see who he is talking to, and lets try not to get deceived, may the Lord Bless us all and Jesus name.

  9. stephen September 1, 2015 at 9:53 am #

There are some problems with the following…

The Cahn said… “September 13 – The last day of the Shemitah year. During the last two Shemitah cycles, we witnessed record-breaking stock market crashes on the very last day of the Shemitah year (Elul 29 on the Biblical calendar). For example, if you go back to September 17th, 2001 (which was Elul 29 on the Biblical calendar), we witnessed the greatest one day stock market crash in all of U.S. history up until that time. The Dow plunged 684 points, and it was a record that held for exactly seven years until the end of the next Shemitah cycle. On September 29th, 2008 (which was also Elul 29 on the Biblical calendar), the Dow plummeted 777 points, which still today remains the greatest one day stock market crash of all time in the United States. Now we are in another Shemitah year. It began in the fall of 2014, and it ends on September 13th, 2015.”

The problem is the application of the shemitah to the U.S. is NOT in the bible! Consider the truth of what scripture actually says…

Deuteronomy 15:1-4 (Debts Canceled Every Seven Years)
“At the end of every seven years you shall grant a RELEASE OF DEBTS. 2 And this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the Lord’s release. 3 Of a foreigner you may require it; but you shall give up your claim to what is owed by your brother, 4 except when there may be no poor among you; for the Lord will greatly bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance”

‘Rabbi’ Cahn teaches the shemitah wipes out & destroys economies, the stock market , etc – but that is not what scripture says. The stock market is invested money, it is not debt! So all the numbers that Cahn quotes about the 2001 and 2008 stock market ‘crashes’ which were actually dips, and many of which are inaccurate (he rounds #s up & down) is disingenuous to scripture. What else is wrong with Cahn’s shemitah application to the U.S.?

Amos 3:7 states the Father keeps His people informed via His prophets (the major and minor prophets of the bible). So if the shemitah was ever to apply to another nation, we would see a prophesy stating such. Do we see any prophecy in scripture about the shemitah being applied to any other nation than Israel?
    (crickets chirping…) No!

In Deut 15:1-4 what we see is pretty self explanatory – the people in the land of Israel could loan money to each other but after 7 years, all debts were forgiven. What the Father did was to institute a self regulatory system where Israelites could not enslave their brethren via debt. It also regulated lending so none would squander their wealth by lending outrageous amounts of money to people who might not be able to pay it back by the seven year mark. The whole point of this commandment was to put Israel in a position of blessing by being the lender and not the borrower i.e. slave. Despite this, Cahn has focused on the stock market and not on debts as the scripture shows.
    Debt levels versus Stock Market.

The biggest problem with Cahn and his shemitah and its ‘wake of destruction’ it causes is that it’s not in the bible! That’s right, the bible says it’s a releasing and wiping away of ALL debts and there is NO mention or example of having a ‘deadly wake’ upon any society. NONE of the market dips or ‘crashes’ in U.S. history have done that, ever! Consider the Sept 2008 ‘crash’ that only dropped 6.98%. God and His word says ALL will be wiped away but the stock market only dropped 6.98% and later recovered (BTW the stock market is invested money and not a record of government and consumer debt in the U.S). In regards to actual debt levels, it actually increased during this ‘crash’. Remember the response to this ‘crash’? It was bailout of over 700 million dollars – massive debt that was placed upon the citizens of this nation. We also saw during this time the increase of consumer debt as well. So why doesn’t Cahn use the actual debt figures during these time periods? Why does he use stock market figures and not reference debt levels? Perhaps because they go against his unbiblical ‘deadly wake’ and shemitah claims. If he actually reported the debt levels before and after this time people would see the truth. So what do the debt levels actually show? Consider the following…

    https://www.census.gov/people/
Here we see that the median household debt has increased every year from 2000 to 2011. So much for the shemitah having an actual effect on the U.S. when it comes to the only thing scripture says it will do, release of debts.

If we look at the National Debt of the U.S. by year we see a steady increase of debt each and ever year from 1930 to the present (ref. usgovernmentspending.com).
Cahn claims that the shemitah applies to the U.S. but from 1930 to today we see no wiping away of any debts whatsoever. What we do
see is a steady increase in debt levels. Now Cahn states that even though George Washington made a covenant vow to God back in 1789, the shemitahs were only RECENTLY applied to the U.S. – which we see no prophesies or teachings of in scripture. What Cahn does is take similar things and comes to the conclusion it must be a secret revelation or mystery explained. The problem is many things in history are similar to scripture but that does not mean it’s true or in accordance with scripture, or does that mean it’s a secret revelation. There have been thousands of prophesies about the end times, rapture and tribulation and they are all based upon the similarity of the times but as we know all have failed.

Now Cahn claims that the shemitahs only recently been applied to the U.S. but offers no scripture to back up the lack of shemitahs from 1789 to 2001. God and His word states “that My word goes forth and accomplishes what it was set forth to do” ref. Amos 3:7. Interesting is that we see the shemitah was only applied to Israel and NO other country! There are no prophesies about a person making a covenant with God in a land far, far away and how the shemitah will be enforced upon that nation. For whatever reason is that is known only to Rabbi Cahn, the shemitahs started in 2001 and again was seen in 2008. If what Cahn is teaching is true then we should be able to see a drop in debt levels during those two years; remember scripture says it’s a TOTAL wiping away of all debt. So what do we see in the
    following…

    https://www.treasurydirect.gov

From 2001 to 2002 we see an increase of debt! Wait a second, ‘Rabbi’ Cahn states that was a shemitah year so according to God’s word we should have seen a total wiping away of debt. Instead we see an increase of over 420 million dollars (420,772,553,397)! So what do we see when we look at the 2008 shemitah year? The 2008 to 2009 debt levels? Opps! It’s another debt increase of over 1.8 billion dollars (1,885,104,106,599). No wonder ‘Rabbi’ Cahn doesn’t tell anyone about this – it would ruin his book and DVD sales!

Other facts show that U.S. debt has steady increased EVERY YEAR since 1930, with no wiping away ever recorded!
    http://useconomy.about.com/od/

Again something that Cahn never discusses.
According to these facts, the debt levels show an increase each and ever year. So the very thing Cahn teaches, that debts will be wiped
away (government and consumer debts), the opposite actually happened. There has NEVER been a time in U.S. history where ALL debt was totally wiped away. These debt levels actually increased during this times! Yet when this is presented to Cahn all you hear are crickets. Is this how a man of God is supposed to act?

The fact that government and consumer debts have risen considerably and consistently during these so called shemitah years leads us to come to one of two conclusions.

    1. That the bible is not true; that God lied and He did not do what He said He would.

    Or…

    2. That ‘Rabbi’ Johnathan Cahn is a liar, a false teacher and
a false prophet, who is fleecing the flock.

    Or…

3 He is sincere but ignorant of what scripture actually teaches – and thus should not be a teacher.

Those are the only three options, the question is, in light of
all the facts, who are you going to follow?

Another HUGE problem! So what about the foreigners?
Any time we look at scripture we need to look at the context of the passage. We don’t want to misapply God’s word to a place, time or people in which it was not intended. Let’s look at the passage often quoted by ‘Rabbi’ Cahn, Deuteronomy 15:1-4…
“At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release of debts. 2 And this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the Lord’s release. 3 Of a foreigner you may require it; but you shall give up your claim to what is owed by your brother, 4 except when there may be no poor among you; for the Lord will greatly bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance—“

Here we see that the releasing of debts is NOT mandatory in
regards to foreigners. Notice the part that says ‘you may require it’. So when it comes to foreigners, you may require it or you may not. This context disproves Cahn and his followers when it comes to applying the shemitah to
all foreigners in the U.S. (release of debts and not stock market investments). In the United States there are about 5-7 million
    Jews (ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
) and a total population of 318.9 million (2014 figures) via thewww.census.gov website. If we say there are 6 million Jews in the U.S. they only make up about .018 percent of the population. So if we apply what the scripture says about the shemitah to foreigners, there is the option for Jews to release foreigner’s debts or not. We also do not see any command from God stating that foreigners must release debts of other foreigners. This is huge and again it’s something that ‘Rabbi’ Cahn does not write in his books or tell his followers. If you’re going to pull scripture out of context and ignore key elements as Cahn has done with Deuteronomy 15, then how can we trust his conclusions?

    Simply we cannot.

    Sincere, but sincerely wrong
Many people have said that what’s important is Cahn’s intent and the sincerity of his message. Ok but where in scripture do we see that the
‘end justifies the means’? Where do we see that it’s okay to pull scripture out of context and apply it to any other nation? We don’t. Where do we see it’s ok to teach and promote a claim where God only partially does what He say He will do? We don’t. Where do see any prophesy that a vow and/or covenant made by man to God, it holds God hostage to that vow? We don’t – the only binding and lasting covenants are the ones that God, our Father, makes with man. Where do we see that its okay to fudge the numbers to make them fit the message? We don’t. See the problems with Cahn’s in his books, “The Harbinger” and “The Mystery of the Shemitah”? Another problem is the majority who follow Cahn are not testing what he teaches against the whole context of God’s word. And sadly, many will fall away from the faith when nothing happens in this September, 2015. No matter how sincere one is, it does not justify false teaching or teaching of things that are not in scripture as if they were.

    Summary
There are so many things wrong with ‘Rabbi’ Johnathan Cahn’s
teachings but here I wanted to address the easiest ones which can be tested against scripture and the historical facts of our country’s debt levels from 1930 to present day. The largest facts being that government and consumer debt levels that rose during the years that Cahn states the shemitah had occurred before, during and afterward. And that there are no prophecies stating the shemitah would be applied to any other nation or that it would used as a punishment against anyone. Its amazing what scripture actually says versus what Cahn states.

Today choose whom you shall serve.

Martha West on July 9th wrote Cahn is a false prophet. Firstly. He is not Christian he is a Messianic Jew! No Martha we are not the same! Just because he believes in the “Messiah” which is a very Jewish thing! Remember the Jews are waiting for the “Messiah.”
Cahn is an honest Bible believer who does not criticize others! Can you say that of yourself. As for myself, I have the “Holy Spirit” to guide me and I do not need your negative comments!

Gillian please help me to understand the difference between a Messianic Jew and a person following Pauls Grace Gospel. I purposely did not say Christian as Catholics call themselves Christians which they are not. Thank you.

Gen.48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.

Gen.48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,

Gen.48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

If God has given you eyes to see then you know that America is the Tribe of Ephraim while Great Britain is the tribe of Manassas.

In Gen.48:16 Jacob renamed Israel said let my name be on them. America and Great Britain receive the double blessing and are called Israel. The land of Israel is where the House of Judah is located.

Joey becuase I dont see it your way please dont assume what God has given me or not given me. (Eyes to see) You understand scriptures your way and you now wish to place your will onto those of us who don’t by implying that God has not given us eyes to see making yourself superior. Very typical of a person who has pride.

Then you quote O/T scriptures. America and Britain were not even countries at the time these scriptures were written in the Septuagint. (LXX) The manuscripts that Jesus read from as the bible had not been written .

Further this teaching you have is new. So in effect what you are saying is that all those people who have died over the last 2000 years have not been given eyes to see. How sad.

I know you wont re-address your thinking on the silly remark as your eyes have been blinded to common sense.

      Thank you.

If he got a special revelation from God then it must be included after Revelation as it is the very words of God=NOT!! Stop the lies con man.

In Revelation Chapters 2 and 3, there were only two churches out of seven God was pleased with…the church of Smyrna and Philadelphia. What did they have in common? Read for yourself and you will see.

There is great deception now even in the churches. They have already been misled. God revealed everything and we do not read it or study it. We just listen to people. Bad move!

The seals, trumps and vials on how it is going to be is all laid out for us by God in Revelation. Who is coming at the 6th Trump? Who comes at the 7th? There is no mention of a rapture in Revelation or II Thessalonians Chapter 2. Rapture started with a vision by Margaret McDonald and James Darby furthered the lie.

The antichrist is coming first and most of the world is going to believe he is Jesus. Then, the true Christ comes and God’s wrath is poured out in vials.

Even Christians are going to try to approach him saying did we not do this or that in your Name. Christ tells them to depart from Him because He never knew them. He is not talking to those who do not accept Christ. He is talking to those that are stating they were Christians but, they ran to wrong one, the antichrist.

KNOW the seals and know how it goes down and you will not be deceived by anyone or any entity. There are 7. That is the seal of God in your forehead. Mark 13 tells us what we are to do when the time comes, as well.

I suggest you read Steven M. Collins four book series on the History of Israel . Also Joseph’s Birthright and Judah’s Scepter , and The series of CD by Bill Watson Church of God International. The United States is part of the Ten Tribes of Israel. The Jews came from one of the TEN TRIBES , JUDAH . The first place in scripture the word Jew is used is in 2 Kings 16;5,6 .when they were at war with Israel. The word Judah and Israel are used 435 times in scripture . When Israel (Jacob ) blessed all his children Joseph’s two sons Ephraim and Manasseh were given a double blessing and Israel said let my name be on them . Gen . 48:8-12 . Joseph and his two sons were not Jews from the Tribe of Judah . Joseph and Judah were brothers . Christ came from Judah but the Birthright of national greatness went to Ephraim and Manasseh . The greatest world empire ever was from Ephraim known ans the British Empire and the greatest Nation ever is the United States .God’s promise has been fulfilled nad as we turn our backs on God ans His Laws we are now in decline .

We have to be careful not to judge Mr. Cahn. I have done a lot of research as well and its looking to me that America may be under judgement from the most high. We have had the word here for awhile now and look at everything going on, gay marriage, porn on the net, strip clubs in all the states, violent movies. I could go on and on.

It was started by the distortion of God’s creation. So it was the deceiver from the very beginning.

anyone Sid Roth promotes is suspect … remember the test of a true prophet and the consequences of false prophecies … death ! he wants to apply Torah to America, Cahn should apply it to himself also

Great article but wrong. Just read Ephesians 2:
It identifies the ethnics (nations) sometimescalled gentiles. Notice they are not v 14 by birth or circumcision Israelites.
V1 says they are now fellow Israelites. One new man made out of two hostile types of men old Israel and Goys.
If you are in the church you are Abrahams son heirs according to the promise.
Acts 3 – Peter says those who reject the Christ prophets Jesus will be utterly cut off. If they rejected Christ they are not Israel. Very very simple even children understand a fellow citizen of Americans is American. So we a re the Israel of God. @ Peter 2:10 says we formerly were not a nation are now the holy nation of priests. Church leaders are stiff necked in this regard. Make them repent (change their thinking). So we are the holy nation Israel of God. The flesh counts for nothing it is the Spirit that gives life.

Dear sir I have been to mr Cahns church. First when it was located in Garfield nj
From 1993 to when the Walmart bought the property and knocked the building down
To put up the shopping center now located on that site they were temporarily allowed
To use Felician college till they found the current location on railroad ave in Wayne nj
I watched them turn a former furniture store into a church
I do not agree with a lot of their so called prophecies and emphasis of Judaism
And keeping the 7 holy days of the Old Testament or having non Jewish people
Wearing a yamika and pray shoel and learning Jewish dances to fit into the rest
Of the people who attend Beth Israel and those people are brainwashed they believe that all of cahns
Books are both prophetic and fiction they treat him like he is a celebrity
He comes out to a bunch of tables set up in a area after his service where people buy
His books and talk to cahn and he signs. Them and they shower him with praise
And acolytes on how he is such a blessed and his message is from god
I only visited this place never would I have joined this group I thought things
Were weird when I heard people their make untrue statements about history or
Other facts that had nothing to do with the Jewish people
Like they claim Christopher Columbus was a nice Italian Jewish boy
Unfortunately the name Columbus mean Christ bearer so I do not think a Jewish person
Would have a last name that means that
Also when they were in Garfield a lady there told me if I loved Jesus I would keep the Old Testament holy days the daily sabbath and the levitical dietary law
They have Jewish people that attend and are members who accepted Jesus as lord but
still can not give up the dietary laws the sabbath keeping and other legalistic beliefs they had to believe as Jews and cahn and others will not tell these people it is unbiblical to
Keep holding on to the false beliefs they were brainwashed to believe as members in
    Mainline Judaism
