The ultimate oxymoron: “Christian Psychic”

It’s a dangerous thing to cause others to stumble into deception. But this book author will most likely convince many sheep that wrong is right, and, well, you know. Here’s what “author and paranormal investigator” Adrian Lee has to say about his new book, How To Be A Christian Psychic:

Some Christians wrongly believe that psychic or paranormal experiences are incompatible with Christianity and threaten the person who experiences them.

Based on a handful of Biblical passages, many people incorrectly think that the Bible warns against such experiences, and about associating with those who share their psychic gifts. This confusion has persisted for centuries.

False information has caused many Christians to deny their authentic spiritual experiences and shun the benefits of healing and insight offered to them by those with spiritual gifts.

In How to Be a Christian Psychic, author Adrian Lee begins by helping Christians comprehend the unique historical settings in which these Bible “warnings” were meant to apply. And he explains how numerous mistranslations of language have accumulated into “teachings” that are not Biblical at all!

Who is this author?

A lifelong Christian, Adrian Lee is also a working historian, the founder of the International Paranormal Society, and a member of the Luton Paranormal Society in England. He has comprehensively investigated ghosts and paranormal activity all over the globe as well as studied the history and theology of Christianity.

In numerous cases, Adrian has interviewed long-dead individuals and turned up previously unknown information that was later verified by further research.

Talking to dead people: That’s called Necromancy, Adrian.

Are you going to believe this deceiver, or what God says about Christians dabbling in Psychic activity, Sorcery,  the paranormal?

How many will be deceived? How many will twist this into something holy?  Says one Amazon reviewer: “It presents a great Bible study on the use of gifts. I think it would make a great study guide for Christian small groups open to considering and using gifts of the spirit.”

Over at Museum of Idolatry, Steven Kozar laments sadly, “this is not a satire piece.”

  1. This is so very wrong and sad. And I can say that more so as a missionary to animistic people and knowing what snares pagan people.

If you read this man’s home page there is nothing to indicate he is a christian of any kind. I was also reading this week an article in the UK Premier Radio’s magazine “meet the real life witches”. This is what the average pew filling Christians in churches are reading these days. Nonsense at every turn.

I think of verses like these – Isa 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

And the descriptions given in 2 Timothy 3 and 4.

  2. I’m really not surprised by this. Christians have been buying into this stuff for a long time. Have you seen this website?

    http://www.rejesus.co.uk/

Take a look. It’s a real eye opener into current trends in the professing church.Yes, these ARE the days where evil is called good and good is called evil.

    Jesus is coming soon!

  3. These people are opening up a door to spiritual forces they have no idea how to deal with. Even true and Bible- believing Christians can be harmed by the deceiving spirits behind this “Christian-psychic” rubbish. For me, having come out of the occult, this is frightening and irritating. I came to Christianity to escape such teachings and practices never believing that one day, this would even be an issue. It truly is a shame but nothing surprises me nowadays. I love your website. Keep us the good work, you are saving lives.

  4. People of God: This author is a sham and a charlatan. Am I judging him? You betcha! The Bible has already judged him and I am simply in agreement with that pronounced judgment.
For weak minded people and Christians who do not read their Bible, this guy is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
May the Lord rebuke him for this intentional madness that he is vomiting out and the whole time smiling and professing he is a Christian! What a joke he is!
He is in it for the bucks and the speaking tour. Ohrah will probably book him as soon as possible for he can expose more of his rubbish to a gullible public.
This flim flam guy needs deliverance from familiar spirits that have infested him with their “knowledge” of the deceased.
