American Gospel releases long-awaited “Spirit & Fire”

I’m excited for today’s official release of the Spirit & Fire documentary series over on American Gospel – AGTV, a streaming service with 100-percent excellent Christian content. This project has been in the works for at least 5 years, and it is a comprehensive examination of Bethel Church in Redding, California.

Check out this trailer:

I was interviewed initially in 2020 for a Spirit & Fire roundtable discussion with Chris Roseborough and Steve Kozar (our “pirate gang), along with Jesse Westwood, a 3 year alumni of Bethel Church in Redding California, who attended Bill Johnson’s mystical Bethel School of Super Natural Ministry, and has since walked away from the Charismatic Church.

We got to ask Jesse about his time at Bethel, his relationship with Bill and the late Beni Johnson and the leadership team, and how these people who were dear to him taught a very different gospel than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When he broke free, he had to come to terms with being deceived into believing many lies, and he had to unlearn a lot of things when he discovered the truth of a loving God who had graciously opened Jesse’s eyes.

It has been an honor to be included in the many consultants who helped director Brandon Kimber with research and content.

There will eventually be 13 full-length episodes, and the first four episodes are now available at AGTV and also for purchase on Vimeo.
