BEREANS: CAN WOLVES BE CHRISTIANS?

Screen Shot 2016-01-27 at 8.58.34 PMJesus warned us of false teachers and “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” Yet many will scold you for warning about the likes of known false teachers (whom we are to mark and avoid), claiming that these teachers are Christian.

Opinions are plentiful, but what does God’s Word say?

Look.It.Up. Guidelines:

  1. Use Scripture to defend/contend.
  2. Be nice, extending grace to others.

No. Galatians 1:8 and Titus 1:16 are two places that I’m thinking of to support my answer, but there are others.

    Did you dismiss class early?
Just a few verses for now.
    Acts 20:29 & 30
    1 Cor. 15:12
    1 John 4:1-4
    Matt. 7:21-23
    2 John 1:9-11
    Gal.2:4
    2 Peter 2:1
    Jude 1:12 & 13

Do we get extra credit for naming names? If so, you might need extra bandwidth.

Matthew 7:21-23 answers this question perfectly:

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
