National Cathedral to Host First Muslim Prayer

Washington National Cathedral is hosting a Muslim prayer service for the first time on Friday.

Planners say they hope Friday’s service at the historic cathedral will foster more understanding and acceptance between Christians and Muslims around the world.

The prominent Episcopal cathedral often hosts national events, such as presidential funerals, and has hosted Muslims at various interfaith services in the past. But planners say this is the first time the cathedral has invited Muslims to lead their own prayers there, which they call a “powerful symbolic gesture.”

Planners say the prayer service developed after the cathedral’s liturgical director met South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool while planning the national memorial service for Nelson Mandela.

In a statement, Rasool says, “This is a dramatic moment in the world and in Muslim-Christian relations.”

They have to be kidding me. Please remove any vestiges of Jesus Christ so this building can be more appropriate for what it is, just another piece of government real estate used for their various purposes.

The Episcopal "Church" has been apostate for ages; this is no shock at all. They probably think that allah and the God of the Bible are one and the same and that Jesus is, well, just a little inconvenience.

When will the Muslims allow Christians into the mosques to have a prayer service? Should go both ways. This is allowing the church to be just another building with no foundation of the Christian Faith.

It is getting beyond reason when Muslims can go into Christian Churches and hold their prayer meetings, but do they allow Christians into the Mosque to hold their services? NO!!! What is good for one should be good for the other ones, but this is not so.
However, some churches are so wishy washy in their stands now a days that you have not a clue about who is who in them anymore. The church sure needs a revival to get it into the presence of God so that the Christian church will be a Christian church.

    Hi,

Yes, the Episcopal church is now apostate as all liturgical denominations are. But we are living in the days of apostasy, so… sorry, no great revival is coming to the rescue. (please don't hold your breath for a pre trib escape either). See 2 Thess 2. The churches have been infiltrated for a long time. This is part of their unfolding plan to usher in their one world religion, they will all unite and persecute the extremists, you know, like people like us who believe there is only one way to heaven; Jesus' atonement, that all have sinned, etc.
Be prepared; the days will only grow more evil.

Shame, shame, shame. Muslims should reciprocate by inviting Christians to hold worship services in mosques. The one-world religion is being promoted by nominal Christians to pave the way fore the antiChrist. The Bible predicts this would happen. BUT woe to him that is the vessel used by Satan. True believers should not be involved. Many commentators have already said the Episcopal is apostate.
